From CTM to YOU!
We have accomplished so much over this past year thanks to your invaluable support. As most of you know the Museum partnered with Curiporium to add a new haunt experience to our Rails to the Darkside event. Our restoration team has continued working on CT company Trolley Car #3001. In addition to the work on car #3001, the 97-year-old Springfield Electric Car #16 is getting overhauled. The work includes a new roof, electrical wiring, bushings, leaf-springs, and repairs to the trucks.
As we enter 2024, the museum is preparing for even more growth. So long as Mother Nature allows, we will be open Saturdays in February, and the first two Saturdays in March. The final two weekends in March see the return of the Easter Eggspress and Easter Bunny Breakfast. We have revamped our event offerings for the year as well, including another Dino Trolley Weekend, Member Ice Cream Social, Saturday Night Summer Hours and our first LEGO Workshop during April Vacation. Keep an eye out on our website, and social media channels for event information. Additionally, we will be adding a new LEGO play station and we have hired an Engineer Firm to help fix our drainage issues which includes paving our parking lot.
Are you interested in becoming a volunteer and joining our exciting team? Not sure how to incorporate your skills, or if you will have the time? There are a variety of opportunities in all areas of operations including clerical, cleaning, event decorating, track work, trolley restoration, and so much more! Please join us for a non-committal volunteer open house on February 17. You can meet current volunteers, ask questions, and learn how you can become an even bigger part of our Museum story.
As most of our members prefer to receive their membership cards and newsletters via email rather than standard mail, we will be moving to electronic communication for 2024. Please let us know if you prefer a paper delivery of your Membership info, and we will be sure to accommodate that. Please remember in order to vote at our annual meeting, you will need to have been a member for one year and renew in a timely manner.
