Katie Hearn is asking for donations to assist Shag Bark Hickory Farm, One of East Windsor’s Most Valuable Assets.

If anyone is fortunate enough to have a little extra to give this holiday season, it would mean more than you know to me to donate to the single biggest positive influence on my life, and probably hundreds of others that have visited Shag Bark Hickory Farm, Inc over the last 50 years.
This non profit is run by my life long friend Katie Hunt and her mother Rosemary Malin . Recent health struggles including surgery for Rosemary, an accident that left Katie with 9 broken ribs and a broken sacrum, and a furnace that went down while katie was in the hospital to boot! All are home recovering now, but managing horse care has been challenging.
I’ve never experienced an organization or human with such a selfless business plan that ALWAYS puts her people over profit, allowing her kids, myself included the opportunity to learn and bond with her horses.
Donations will help them get barn work done and horses fed while Katie gets back on her feet.
All this not to mention the permanent home they offer to horses who have passed their peak performance years, giving them a refuge to age gracefully and so very loved.
If you can’t donate, a quick share to spread the word means just as much!
