East Windsor, CT Police Department

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Det. Roberts & Ofc. Sanchez Ensure Compliance in East Windsor
On February 28, 2025, the East Windsor Police Department, in collaboration with the State of Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) Tobacco Prevention and Enforcement Program (TPEP), conducted unannounced compliance inspections of establishments selling tobacco products and electronic cigarettes within the town.
These inspections were part of ongoing efforts to uphold state laws prohibiting the sale of e-cigarettes and tobacco products to individuals under the age of 21. According to Connecticut General Statutes Section 53-344 and Section 53-344b, retailers are mandated to verify the age of any person who appears under 30 before selling tobacco or electronic cigarettes.
A total of 12 compliance inspections were conducted during this initiative. We are pleased to report that all inspected establishments were found to be fully compliant with state regulations.
This successful outcome underscores the commitment of local retailers to uphold public health standards and prevent youth access to tobacco and e-cigarette products.
“We are grateful for the cooperation and proactive efforts demonstrated by the retailers in East Windsor,” stated Chief Carl. “Their dedication to compliance plays a crucial role in safeguarding our community’s health and well-being.”
The following retailers were found to be in compliance during the inspections:

Harken’s Market

In N Out Convenience (Now known as Farm Town Market)

Broad Brook Deli

Noble Gas Station

Smokers Discount World

Sunoco Gas Station

Shell Food Mart

Tobacco Hub
