East Windsor Public Schools with Warehouse Point Fire Department EGG DROP!!!!!!!!
Students in 3rd and 4th grade STEM class completed “The Great Egg Drop Challenge” with help from the Warehouse Point Fire Department.
In the egg drop challenge, forces and motion play crucial roles in safely delivering the raw egg to the ground. Gravity pulls the egg downward, causing it to accelerate. To prevent it from breaking, students use various materials to create a protective barrier that absorbs impact.
The design often includes features that increase air resistance, such as parachutes, which slow the fall and reduce the force of impact. Additionally, materials like padding cushion the egg by spreading out the force over a larger area and longer time, demonstrating how understanding and manipulating forces and motion can protect the egg.
Special thanks to the Warehouse Point Fire Department for making the egg drop especially exciting to our students.
