East Windsor Parks and Recreation is SO excited to present this year’s haunted Highway! Please note this year’s event will be a walk-through. There will be a $5.00 charge per family, with proceeds going towards camp/program scholarships.

Rails to the Darkside @ CT Trolley Museum

As the fall chill fills the air, on the darkest of nights, mournful cries of the abandoned dead are heard on the tracks at the Connecticut Trolley Museum.

Come for a scare if you dare…the next trolley ride is an express to the Darkside! During this haunted experience, ride vintage trolleys into the dark woods for a fear that you will never forget. Listen to the tale of yesteryear, as you learn of a hastily moved cemetery whose bodies were left behind…their angry souls seeking their revenge. Will you survive? The event will be held on Friday and Saturday nights starting September 30th. This experience is rated PG-13 and may be too intense for the squeamish.

Hours are 7pm-9:30pm (gates open at 6:15pm for ticket sales). Admission is $25 per person and recommended for ages 16

Drop Off Bag Day(s) for EW Community Food Drive @ Town of East Windsor

Hello East Windsor!

This Saturday and Sunday the Scouts and a handful of volunteers will be taking to the streets to drop off the bags and flyers for the Scouting for Food Drive. Please keep an eye out for them as you drive through town. We want all of our Scouts to return home in one piece.
Also keep an eye out for the bags, they are paper this year with no handles. So look under heavy objects by your front door.
The goal this year is 17,500 lbs. We have come very close the last few years. Let’s see if we can make it this year!
As always, if you see them out there honk your horn and say hello. show them their hard work doesn’t go unnoticed.

PICK UP is Saturday November 4th from 9-2.
 Please note – All info for donations and times for pick up will be on the flyers going out this weekend
Pumpkin Patch Trolley @ CT Trolley Museum

Pumpkin Patch is a family fun filled adventure where you ride on a trolley car out to the pumpkin patch field and each child can pick out a Sugar Sized Pumpkin.

Additionally, when you return back to the Museum you can decorate the pumpkins, play in the corn box, enjoy the outside harvest play area and the entire museum. Admission includes the Fire Truck Museum which is housed on the same property as the Trolley Museum. The event will be held on Saturday and Sunday starting September 30th-October 29th (including Monday Columbus Day, October 9th).

Visit www.ct-trolley.org for hours of operation and to purchase tickets. Admission is $13 for adults/seniors, $15 for ages 12-17 & $14 for ages 2-11 (under the age of 2 is free). Museum Members receive half off admission. All activities are included in admission.

Friends of the Brothers, the premier celebration of the Allman Brothers Band, returns to the Opera House for a very special show. The band’s founder Alan Paul is the New York times best-selling author of two books about the band, including the new “Brothers and Sisters: The Allman Brothers Band and the Inside Story of the Album That Defined the ‘70s.” The night will begin with a conversation between Paul and WRTC’s Chris Cowles and a q/a, followed by a full performance of your favorite ABB music. One night only!

Guitarist/singer Andy Aledort has played with Dickey Betts for 12 years. Guitarist/singer Junior Mack has fronted Jaimoe’s Jasssz Band for 12 years. Keyboardist Peter Levin toured the world with Gregg Allman for 3 years and appears on his last album, the upcoming Southern Blood. Levin, Mack and Aledort all performed with the Allman Brothers Band. Singer/guitarist Alan Paul is the author of One Way Out, the definitive, best-selling Allman Brothers Band biography based on 25 years of reporting. Drummer Dave Diamond is a founding member of the Zen Tricksters and a frequent member of the Assembly of Dust. He has played with Bob Weir, Derek Trucks, Robert Randolph and countless others. The members’ first-hand experience with the Allman Brothers Band and their deep knowledge of the repertoire and the music’s roots and heritage allows them to play with an unrivaled depth. They perform songs from every stage of the Allman Brothers Band’s career.
