Rails to the Darkside @ CT Trolley Museum

If you want to be scared half to death, Rails to the Darkside is for You.

**Note This event is geared toward adults, it is not recommended for young children.

Ride the rails into the dark country side and hear the story of the cemetery on the property and what happens when you dig it up. Can your heart take it, come ride and see what everyone is talking about.

Additionally, hear the tales of unsolved mysteries that left ghostly imprints in our history as you walk through two terrifying haunted tours.

Rails to the Darkside runs every Friday and Saturday through October from 7PM-9:30PM. Admission is $20, visit www.ct-trolley.org for more information.

Pumpkin Patch Trolley @ CT Trolley Museum

Pumpkin Patch Trolley is a family fun filled adventure where you ride on a trolley car out to the pumpkin patch and each person can pick out a pumpkin. Additionally when you return back to the Museum you can decorate the pumpkins, get your face painted (from 11am-3pm on Sat & Sun), enjoy the outside play area Including a cornbox, train playscape and the entire museum. Don’t forget you can take as many Trolley rides as you would like. This event will run Fri-Sun in October starting Oct 5th and also on Monday, Oct 8th (Columbus Day).

The Connecticut Trolley Museum is located at 58 North Road (Rt. 140) and is a short 15 minutes north of Hartford or a short 15 minutes south of Springfield. Admission is $12.00 for ages 13 and up, $11.00 for seniors 62 and up, $10.00 for ages 4-12, $3.00 for children under 3 and Museum Members half price. “Turkey Shoot” w/ East Windsor Lions

The East Windsor Lions Club  47th Annual Turkey Shoot is happening on Sundays.
During the “shoot,” shooters use shotguns from a distance of 25 yards to shoot at targets with  turkeys emblazoned on them. There are 20 shooters in each round, and the shooter whose shot that is closest to the bulls-eye wins the round.
 
Shooters can win prizes ranging from frozen turkeys, frozen hams, and beef roasts, to gift cards and cash. Tickets for each round of shooting cost from $2.25 to $3.50, depending on the prize being awarded for that round. There are also “special” shooting rounds, where shooters can win larger prizes.
 
The Turkey Shoot will run for six consecutive Sunday mornings, Oct. 14th thru Nov. 18th. Ticket sales for the shooting rounds will begin at 8:15 AM every Sunday, with the actual shooting rounds running from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM (or last shooter).
 
Shotgun ammo is provided, and there are shotguns available to use for persons without shotguns who are interested in shooting.
 
Special: Kids 12 & under get 1 free ticket to shoot (in a “small bird” round).
 
The East Windsor Lions Club Turkey Shoot has provided SAFE fun for the entire family for the past 46 years of this event, which supports the sight-saving and other charitable activities of the club. Artists Market (Local Artists Great Opportunity to show)) @ Agonist Gallery

On Sunday, October 21, Agonist Gallery will host another in our series of Artists Markets. All area visual artists are invited to bring 1-3 pieces for display in the gallery for the day- 11 am to 4 pm. There are no commissions on sales, and the price to exhibit is only $10 at the door. There will be no charge for our visitors, and there is ample parking.
 
Bring some new work to share and test out. Our Artists Markets are a place for artists’ to show new work without great expense or time commitment. Accepted work includes photography, painting, and sculpture. No crafts. Work will be hung on display panels normally used for outdoor art fairs.
 
There will be time to set-up between 10:30 am and 11 am. Hope to see you there!
