Wire Wrapped Suncatcher Workshop @ G.W. Boutique & Craft Studio
Jan 11 @ 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Bring some sunshine into your home with a one of a kind suncatcher!
We will use a variety of materials including metal and wood finding, stones, crystals and chain to create your own masterpiece. Erica will teach everyone basic wire wrapping to add stones to your wood or metal findings.
This class will use small beads and wire snips. If you are uncomfortable with jewelry making or beading this may not be the class for you. If you wear reading glasses be sure to bring them along!
This class is intended for students ages 10+. Our classes are nonrefundable as we make all of our wood pieces to order in house once we hit our minimum of 3 students. We have a very small studio so please be sure everyone in your party is aware and comfortable with our space. We do ask that all students be willing and able to complete their projects on their own with our help and guidance. If anyone in your party is uncomfortable with crafting or making things, this may not be the studio for them. While Erica is available to help, she cannot complete projects for everyone in the allotted time frame.
Please see our website (above) for full policies and procedures for more information or contact Erica at [email protected]

Neighbor @ Broad Brook Opera House
Jan 17 @ 6:00 pm – 11:00 pm

Neighbor

The band Neighbor began over 35 years ago – they just didn’t know it yet. Childhood neighbors Richard James (vocals, keys) and Lyle Brewer (guitar) shared fence lines and melodies as they both grew and explored their own musical paths. The quartet became complete with the addition of Dan Kelly (bass) and Dean Johnston (drums) in 2019. Their creative incubation began with a weekly residency that grew in large part by the passion of their fans, the “Neighbors,” who continue to inspire the band as the fan base has expanded across the country.

With a diverse catalog of hundreds of songs, the musical juggernaut Neighbor has become one of the most exciting and unpredictable live bands on the music scene today. Neighbor combines ambitious composition, soulful balladry, and a fearless approach to their lengthy improvisations. Not boxed in by a single genre, their songwriting brings elements of Americana, Funk, Rock, Jazz, Soul and more. The band is putting pen to paper once again as they head back into the studio to begin work on their second album.

Come see what’s good in the Neighborhood.

Winter Wonderland Workshop @ Robertos Real American Tavern
Jan 17 @ 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm
GW is teaming up with Roberto’s Real American Tavern for our first adult crafting night in their loft. Erica will lead the workshop and help everyone create their shelf sitters in whatever style they like. There are no rules in a Giroux Woodworking class except to be kind and have fun. We laser-cut our projects in our studio for students to paint in pieces and then assemble at the end, ensuring a perfect paint job.
Students will have full access to sips and snacks from the loft bar; meals are also available for order. Roberto’s has been kind enough to host us, so we want to be sure to support them as well. The class run time is 2.5 hours; students are welcome to head out early if they finish early. The project sits about a foot tall.
Registration is required and available at www.Girouxwoodworking.com.
Minimum of 5 students for the class to run.
More about Event-

Roberto’s and G.W. are once again teaming up to bring you a night of food and fun! Join us in the Roberto’s Lounge to create a 10-inch tall snowman shelf sitter. Grab dinner and drinks to snack on while we craft. Snowmen will come pre-painted white, so students can use the time we have to decorate them. Our classes feature wooden projects which come in pieces and are glued together at the end to ensure they are painted perfectly. While Erica is available to help, we do ask that all students attending be willing to work with super glue to glue their projects together at the end. This class will be larger, so Erica will not have enough time to glue everyone’s projects for them. For this class to run smoothly and end on time, this will be very important. Roberto’s is kind enough to offer their space to us, so please support them as well! They will have dinner, snacks, and drinks available to be delivered right to you while you craft.
This class is intended for adults. The class is nonrefundable once we hit our 5-person minimum for this class. If we do not hit our minimum and the class is canceled, you will receive a full refund to your card.
Please see our full policies and procedures for more information or contact Erica at [email protected]
