8th ANNUAL CARDBOARD BOAT RACE ON THE SCANTIC RIVER (East Windsor)
JUNE 23, 2019 — REGISTRATION 12:30 PM – 1:45 PM — LAUNCH at 2:00pm after Rubber Duck Race. Ducks launch at 1:00pm.
ALLOWED:
Cardboard, Duct tape, Lumber 1″ X 12″ X 10′ long
Glue and assorted “smooth rivet” fasteners
Store-bought paddles are permitted: only oars, paddles or wind may be used to propel your vesselPROHIBITED: PLASTIC, METAL, STYROFOAM, TAR, WAX, FIBERGLASS RESINS, EPOXIES, STAPLES & CLAMPS
• BOAT MUST BE EASY TO ENTER & EXIT SHOULD IT BECOME UNEXPECTED SUBMARINE, AND BE FREE OF SHARP EDGES OR OTHER DANGERS TO CREW SAFETY.
• DECORATIONS MAY BE OF ANY MATERIAL (except styrofoam or any other aids in its floatation)
• ONLY A QUALIFIED BOAT CAN BE THE WINNER – ALL BOATS WILL BE INSPECTED PRIOR TO RACE
• ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST WEAR A LIFE JACKET (and be able to swim)
• OPEN TO ALL / PARTICIPANTS MUST SIGN “HOLD HARMLESS” FORMS BEFORE RACE
• AT LEAST ONE PERSON IN BOAT AT ALL TIMES
• ALL RULES ARE FINAL AND ARBITRARY!

REMOVED FROM THE RIVER / TOWN PROPERTY & PROPERLY DISPOSED OF ***
BOATS WILL BE JUDGED & PRIZES AWARDED FOR

BEST TEAM SPIRIT & FUNNIEST

The contest is geared for ages 4-12 and every week will be a different theme. Winners will be awarded prizes in three age categories, and participants need not be present to win. Creations stay at the Museum to be broken down at the end of the day. LEGO contest included with admission. Adults $11, Children ages 4-11 $8, 3 and under Free and Museum members half off

Storytime Trolley @ CT Trolley Museum

Beginning Monday, June 24th and every Monday during the summer at 11am & 1PM enjoy storytime inside one of our operating trolleys. When the story is over you will be treated to a 3 mile round trip trolley ride. Adults $11, Children ages 4-11 $8, 3 and under $4 and Museum members half off. For those who purchase an admission ticket for storytime will receive 10% off in the gift shop.
