FREE FAMILY FUN!
Join the East Windsor Historical Society in celebrating the expansion of their Museums on the Green located at 115 Scantic Road, East Windsor. This annual event will feature a wide variety of activities for the whole family.

Enjoy free ice cream provided by Tulmeadow Farm Store, pony rides for the kids, tractor and small engine displays as well as tractor and horse drawn wagon rides through the newly acquired 40 acres. Guests can explore the redesigned exhibits in the five existing museums and then peek in on the progress of the Barber Hill School House Museum.

There will truly be something for everyone at this event! Step back in time at the hats and props tent provided by Suffield Players, where visitors can take some selfies. Then off to play Colonial games such as “Whirligig” and “Game of Graces” with friends and family. Be serenaded by by a 1903 band organ or the North Street Barbershop Quartet while getting a free haircut in the Broad Brook Barber Shop museum and be a guest at a free marriage ceremony on the steps of the historic courthouse museum.

In addition to its permanent displays, the Osborn House Museum will host a special author signing event and exhibit for the book, Pierre Starr Surgeon, 39th Ohio Infantry, which gives a first person account of the Civil War from a local surgeon’s perspective. And finally, special booths, exhibits and demonstrations will be scattered about the museum grounds for visitors to explore at their leisure. There will even be a hot dog truck on site for a quick afternoon snack.
