East Windsor Public Schools Welcomes New Athletic Director Dean Edwards.

As the new athletic director, Dean Edwards brings 25 years of college and high school coaching experience to East Windsor.
“The primary mission of any academic institution is to prepare leaders – intelligent, caring, faithful individuals able to pursue and promote excellence in their professions, communities, and service to humanity,” said Edwards, who had been the assistant athletic director for Farmington High School since 2017.
Edwards resume includes 20 years as an assistant coach for both men’s and women’s collegiate basketball teams and he has done so at all three division levels. In addition, he brings head coaching experience from stints at Erie Community College, Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy, and Tolland High School.
“It is my belief that it is the responsibility of the Athletic Director to help design and implement a structure where each student athlete is challenged to reach his or her fullest potential as an athlete but, more importantly as a human being,” Edwards said. “Success in athletics begins in the classroom and extends to the court or field and concludes with service to others.”
Edwards said he is extremely honored and appreciative that both Principal Allison Anderson and Superintendent Patrick Tudryn chose him for this wonderful opportunity. “I’ve already met many tremendous people who have helped make my transition to East Windsor a seamless one,” he said.
Edwards himself was an accomplished collegiate athlete, playing his first year at Butler University before transferring to Rider University. During his senior year, Edwards, playing guard, averaged 10 points per game and helped the Broncs reach the NCAA tournament.
“My vision for the athletic programs, both at the middle and high school, is to increase student involvement, increase student engagement and get our entire school community excited about our athletic programs and what they have to offer. I feel we have outstanding coaches with a wealth of knowledge who have, and will continue, to positively impact the student-athletes they work with”!
