Solar Bob comments “For the past 8 years I’ve been warning homeowners that electric utility rates will skyrocket.

Complaining to legislators, ranting online, and demanding accountability has changed absolutely nothing for the consumer.
It won’t.
It can’t.
Traditional power, because so much of it is purchased from out of state through hundreds of miles of the aging, crumbling, electrical grid, is expensive. More importantly, those annoying rate increases grow larger year after year.
We went solar on our home in 2016, with a Lease/Power Purchase agreement which immediately locked in a lower rate, with an stipulation that our rate for power can never increase are than 2.9% annually.
How much have your electric rates increased over the last couple years?
Because of that low annual rate increase, I’m now getting my power for about half of what you’re paying for yours, and my savings over utility power is likely to continue to increase multiple times a year as Eversource, UI etc, continue to stick it to rate-payers.
The residential solar industry is estimated to to be roughly 8 billion dollars. Can you find problems and unhappy customers in an industry that large? Of course. Would renewable energy be one of the fastest growing businesses in the world if most customers didn’t benefit? Uh, no.
Your online “research” about residential solar will only confuse you because there is so much misinformation out there! Find a reputable solar sales person to answer all of your questions, and then get a no-cost solar design specifically for your home so that you can make an EDUCATED decision moving forward. It’s very simple.
