Syme Family Farm Updates
Campanula aka Bell Flower is our next specialty cut floral crop of the season.
This unique flower has a long vase life and comes in beautiful colors!
Their season is just beginning and this year we tripled production from last year!
We are just starting to harvest, the cooler is full with bouquets for today (Wednesday), and by the weekend we will have an abundance of blooms.
Don’t miss out on these, it has a short season and with the upcoming heat predicted its season will go by fast.

Spend an evening on the farm with us!
We will take a Farm Walk highlighting all the crops that we grow here and have a meet & greet with our cattle!
We will then head back to our rustic barn where you will choose your own pre-harvested seasonal blooms and learn how to create your own jumbo hand-tied bouquet.

Sunday was Mum Day!
The day started out wet but we still filled thousands of pots,the mums were planted and drip lines were layed out in four hours!
The landscape fabric and main irrigation lines were layed out earlier in the week to make the process go smoother.
Each pot has an emitter and that’s how we deliver both water and fertilizer at the same time.
Bill was thinking about it and he planted his first crop of 200 field grown mums 40 years ago in 1984 as his high school FFA project. The way we grow this crop has changed immensely over that time period.

April and May flew by, Spring was a whirlwind with Tulip & Ranunculus harvest and sales, Christmas Tree planting as well as emptying an entire greenhouse of spring plants.
During all this we’ve been diligently planting all the flower fields over the last 6 weeks.
There are well over 12,000 plants in the ground growing to become summer blooms for you to enjoy. Young plants are being pinched and all the rows have been staked and netted for support. We are still seeding fall flower crops for September and October harvests. The Dahlia field has been planted and they are beginning to pop out of the soil. Tomatoes are growing, Pumpkins have been seeded and the both the Cantaloupe and Watermelon are growing well.
Next up is filling pots and planting the fall mum crop.
