Syme Family Farm says “All the rain has made this season a bit more challenging than usual. Our CSA is bigger than ever and we have a commitment to fulfill the faith that customers have put in us.

A drought year is actually easier to manage, although irrigating is a large, costly and laborious task but you can always add water. You can never take water away. The excess moisture has caused more disease and crop loss this year. But on the flip side, some crops are doing the best they’ve ever done in the 18 years of our growing specialty cut flowers!
For the 15 years prior to Covid we sold our blooms and plants at two large Farmers Markets a week from June-October and had a smaller CSA. This was a bit more flexible because we loaded our box truck with whatever was available from our fields. For the past 4 years we no longer sell at markets and move every single stem thru our Flower Barn and ramped up our CSA.
What I am trying to say is that we are so very grateful that you choose our farm and crops! We are doing our best to bring you quality!
Maybe this rainy pattern will end soon. Then we’ll complain it’s too dry”!
